macsiv
I hope this isn't too confusing. Here is what I'm looking at, any help is appreciated: I have an MSI P43 Neo3 board, but I can't get the OSX installer to install to my internal drive (IDE). I got the iDeneb 1.3 installer to start, I can select my 32Gb partition located at disk0s2, thats an IDE master with a vista installation on partition 1. Ok so now if I select this as my install location the installer scans the source media and turns up ok but then when attempting to actually install I get an error that says "the installer is experiencing errors installing onto Leopard" (I titled the volume "Leopard"). So I go the idea that maybe it doesn't have solid enough drivers to write to the HD properly via IDE. So I tried installing to USB. On the USB drive partition 1 is NTFS (just data) and partition 2 started as an empty partition. iDeneb seems to like that one better and the installer copied all of the files over to the USB drive successfully (i can see them in terminal) but I don't know how to get it to boot. I also have a zip file that I grabbed from another forum post that supposedly contains all of the kexts necessary for this mobo, but I don't know how I would get the file over to the USB installation since Vista doesn't see it, and I also don't know the terminal commands necessary to plug them into the system even if I could copy it. So here are my questions: 1. Am I going about this the right way? 2. What is the procedure for getting the kexts that I have into the OS so that it will boot? (I really have tried searching the forums but I can't find the instructions for this.) i.e. What are the terminal commands and where do I put the files? 3. Any other suggestions if that doesn't work? Has anyone successfully installed on this board? Is there a way to simplify this and install to the IDE drive?
