jonlon15
Hey guys, I followed this guide to make a bootable Windows 7 installation on my USB drive. It boots fine on my Dell, but I'm having a hell of a time getting it to boot on my MacBook. When I use rEFIt to select the USB disk, it brings me to the BIOS screen and says that no OS was found and I need to insert a bootable CD. I also had the idea of blessing the USB drive? I have no idea how to do that. Any help or ideas would be appreciated! sebhag
AFAIK, Apple's bios emulation doesn't support booting legacy os from usb or firewire. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/169175-boot-win7-x64-from-usb-drive/#findComment-1174540 Share on other sites
sebhag
Apparently some people have been successful with XP in the past: http://tubeshards.wordpress.com/2006/12/05...tosh-usb-drive/ This is more a note to myself really to try out at some point. I'm sure i tried this in the past and got a rEFIt error, but only tried cloning a partition from internal to external...
