flock21
I begin by saying I am a total novice to Macs and while I have built many a PC this is my first go round with Macs and the OS is new to me as well. I am having trouble getting the retail OS to load. I am using bootloader 132 and can get to the starburst screen and get a spinning pinwheel but never get to the screen to install the OS. I am not well versed in kexts so would definitely appreciate any help or suggestions. The following is what the system consists of: Gigabyte EP45-UD3L motherboard Intel Core 2 Duo processor 4 GB RAM 1 TB SATA hard drive Gigabyte GEforce 7200GS video card Thanks in advance! Gurujee
Well I think part of my problem is I'm not sure what kext to be using but I am trying to install OS X 10.5.6 purchased from Apple direct. Sorry for not having a better answer to the kext question. Hi, I CAN HELP YOU OUT. I have the same board with E8400 C2D and just installed 10.5.7 from iATKOSv7 and then you need to install various other drivers. If you are still expecting help reply and I can guide you through. But for your eduction I would suggest see the following video Just to mention, I can update the OSX just like normal Mac, so I am now running 10.5.8. The only issue is 2 channel sound. Here are the settings which I used to get this thing working System Summary: Gigabye Motherboard GA-EP45-UD3L Intel Core 2 Due E8400 OCZ 2+2GB RAM 1066 ATI Radeon HD 3650 IDE DVD RW: Set as IDE Primary Master IDE HD 40GB: Set as IDE Primary Slave SATA 1TB with AHCI Mode and Native Mode Disabled 1TB does not show up in normal bios, but when u press F12 and wana boot in HD it shows the HD also availble in installation Installation Settings: Main iATKOS System Bootloader : Xiezhy Apple Decryptor Kernel Voodoo 9.7.0 Disabler OHR AHCI Card Bus USB Booted with -v -x and got the system partially working , see below: No VGA Kext loaded basic graphics no QE/CI Internet working (although no kext was selected) No sound (although VoodooHDA kext was selected) I then updated OSX from the menu using Mac Software update. System rebooted, used -v -x to see the outcome, it rebooted itself before coming to login screen. Again used -v -x -f to see and fix new things. You know what..................... Got 10.5.8 working in basic mode without graphics kext and sound Cheerz Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/168879-problems-installing-retail-os-x-on-gigabyte-ep45-ud3l/#findComment-1225915 Share on other sites
