Hi all,

After a 100% successfull install of Leo4all v3 (Leopard 10.5.2), I rebooted and got greeted with an HFS+ partition error, which I fixed by using the terminal command fdisk -u /dev/rdisk0, which I've used before several times. Well, upon reboot I get greeted with the infamous "Still waiting for root device error".

I just had Kalyway 10.5.2 working a couple days ago, so I don't think it's a problem with my HDD / IDE setup. I notice a line that mentions UUID before I get the root error, so I think maybe I need to format my partition to be GUID instead of MBR?

The problem is, unless you are formatting the whole disk it won't let me specify MBR or GUID. Is there any way to set my Leopard partition to GUID without formatting the whole disk?

- Thanks

Yes you need to be in GUID, no MBR (that's for Windows)

I did my install this week end and forgot to put GUID, I had to format the whole disk to set it properly.

I don't know any issue to do it without formating the complete disk

If you have a second Hdisk , make it GUID and make a clone copy with Super duper

I use it for my update generally

good luck

M
