Retail. In fact, the least errors would be to buy an actual Mac (be it the iMac, Mac Mini, Mac Pro, Macbook, Macbook Air, or Macbook Pro).

From what I'm noticing, every Hackintosh has errors, and your chances of getting it installed are slim to none, especially if you run into an error you need help with.

What is generally the best distro? Like which one has the most drivers/kexts, works with most hardware, has fewest errors, etc.

The.Se7enth is right. To be able to use the best version of mac osx you will need to buy a mac. APPLE doesnt want PC's running their beloved osx. But thanx to the brilliant minds of the osx86 team it is possible. Inevitably everyone will encounter problems when trying to install osx86. Dont give up though. Even those with the best hardware will have problems. Best thing you can do is keep trying. There is no best distro(in my experience). You just have to try each one untill you find one that works best using the hardware that you have.

BEST OF LUCK

Yeah. That's what I meant.

I wasn't trying to sound discouraging; I haven't even given up myself, I still have a slight bit of hope left that I can get it installed...

I suggest starting with iDeneb first, and then iPC... But the most recommended version is Kalyway.

If you have a prebuilt computer from HP, Dell, or Gateway, it'll be easier for you to install than anyone who has a computer they built themselves. Me, being stuck with an ICH5 chipset, ATI Radeon 9250 (one model -before- "Shader Model 2.0" cards were released), and no SATA ports, it's a lot harder for me to run OSX.

Meaning, if you have ICH7 chipset or higher, a good video card [or at least an on-board Intel card], and SATA, you could probably get iDeneb or Kalyway to work no problem. Try those, and read the stickied topic about installing a Retail copy, it's actually your safest bet if you can figure out the tutorial.
