Daegalus
Ok, So I've spent the day trying to figure this out and have tried everything. I am trying to install iPC 10.5.6 onto a HP 2140, so im doing it with 2 USB drives. One is a normal thumb drive, the other is a Buffalo LInkstation drive. I used TransMac to write the ISO (that i converted to DMG with transmac) to the drive. I then tried at least 5 different compilations for the boot stick. I even managed to get CHameleon 2.0rc1 to boot up. The problem is on the premade bootdisks, it loads up an older chameleon text mode boot. I set the drive to 82 for the install drive, and hit enter. It doesn't boot. It just takes me to the drive selection and asks me for the number again. Chameleon 2.0 doesn't even see it, only sees the flashdrive it booted off of, and my windows installation. I tried to switch the flash drive with the install drive and then launch the USB drive option in CHameleon 2.0, but it failed, just gave me a bunch of black dots on screen, then warped the images. Can anyone point me to a way to get the installation to boot. I don't have a OSX already to do any of the OSX methods and I don't have an external DVD reader to burn to a cd. Need some help. I've even tried the DellEFIBoot stuff and that just gave me the same no boot problem. Any help would be appreciated. Daegalus
Ok I think I am getting somewhere. Maybe not but here is exactly what I do. 1. Delete all partitions and other junk from the installer drive. 2. Using Transmac, I format the disk with the iPC iso. 3. I use a flash drive as boot132 drive. 4. I boot up the flash drive, wait for syslinux to load. 5. I set it to 80, take out the flash drive, and put in the Install Drive and hit enter. Get Error: Calling chainbooter. BOot Error I assume this is cause I did the swap. Chameleon doesn't see the other hard drive. And I mean never sees the other drive. I only have 80 and 81 as boot devices. Never sees the 2nd usb drive, just my internal and my flash drive. Any ideas on what I can do to get this working? I have Acronis, Transmac, ddmac (which doesnt work for me, always says not an HFS partition and does nothing), DellMiniboot, DellEFI, 3-4 boot132 compilations, Chameleon 2.0rc1 and 1.0.12 binaries. I dunno what to do anymore to get this thing to boot. Do I format the install drive as fat32, or do i do something else? any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying to get OSX on my HP 2140 for 2 days now, and i can't even get to the installer. I know others have gotten OSX on their HP2140s but they either have another mac, or did something to finally boot it.
