Hi!

Im a new member, though I have lurked on the forum as a guest reading a great deal of information about

OSx86 before actually installing to my laptop. I made sure to research that it was compatible and so on and so forth.

I then learned that the correct install for my laptop is Kalyway 10.5.1 then update to .2

I have downloaded and burned both disks.

To make sure that I do not stray away from the correct installation I made sure to follow the "testing grounds"

install tutorial for super noobies to osx86 (since I am)

To get the install to start i pressed f8 and typed -mbr

formatted the disk with utility (into Journaled extended [told you I read it :P

Named the drive Osx86 with no spaces like read in the forum.

Created a custom install (and this is where I think my problem starts)

since I own an IBM thinkpad T40, I knew that I was using the MBR option

not vanilla, but SSE2 though outside that... I am coming up short on information regarding'

what other drivers to install or if any.

I cannot find any tutorials or strong information leading to what type drivers I should be installing.

then i hit me...

should I be using the update disk now when it reboots after the install is completed?

I havent tested it out but it was an idea.

Could someone possibly point me into the right direction?

So I tried to toss in the update dvd and to no avail.

This time around, at the darwin screen, instead of typing -mbr

i opted to test out -v

after my screen filled with text, I went back into the the installer screen and

currently checking the install dvd again. (just to be 100% sure)

I reformatted the drive to Mac OS Extended Journaled

Custom install again, this time only selected

MBR and SSE2 and sent it along its way.

Ill update as soon as I get one.

Still if anyone knows an easy fix on this, your help is welcomed and very appreciated.
