Mushbird
Hello, For first I'm posting my specs: Shuttle SG31G2 Core 2 Duo E8500 2x2Gb 800Mhz DDR2, Corsair embedded video, some IDE DVD-DL RW SATA2 Seagate HD, 250Gb Old IDE Seagate HD, 80Gb PS/2 mouse and keyboard USB: D-Link DWA-140 Wireless-N adapter, Mobidick bluetooth Wacom Bamboo A6 (the black one) Old IDE 2,5" 160Gb HD via IDE2USB Bridge Few months ago I had a working Kalyway 10.5.2 with everything working except Quarz, Core Image and Time Machine. But I was dumb enough one time and clicked "ok" on the annoying combo-update window. All the hell broke loose and since then, I've reinstalled my WinXP 64bit and never used OSX anymore. Later I've installed Win7, although its nice, but I still want to use OSX. When using Win7 I was dumb enough again to convert the last 2 FAT32 partitions into NTFS. I can't reformat them because of lots of vital data there. I want to have both of my Windows installs intact, while also adding a Leo. Currently there's a Windows 7 bootloader, but I don't care which one to use. I want the one that will work. I have almost empty 160Gb USB HD formatted in FAT32 - I could easily make a partition there in HFS+ with enough space for Leopard. So, I want some sort of advice on installing Retail Leopard with boot 1-2-3 on a USB HD and how to make it boot from it in Shuttle BIOS. I've searched on Sudhian forums (there's a large Shuttle community) about booting from usb hard disks with no luck. Maybe I should consider buying an IDE 2 Firewire harddisk shell? Or IDE 2,5" to 3,5" and install the HD as internal, install OSX and get it back to USB shell? Many thanks in advance, Mushbird Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/168165-shuttle-sg31g2-external-hd-os-x-installation/ Share on other sites
Mushbird
I'm sorry for double posting, but I would like to ask if anybody has successfuly installed retail OSX on external drive and tweaked the bootloader to see Windows system as well?
