j3st3r Posted May 27, 2009 Share Posted May 27, 2009 I have been through and read just about everything i can find on installing this (ipc v 10.5.6) and i still can not get past the stage where after it boots from dvd and tries to install i get waiting on root device. i have a sata hdd and a sata dvd plus an external(usb) hdd. my computer is a gateway lx6810 so i can not change the sata controller from raid in my bios(locked out of that option by gateway). my motherboard is a nforce 730i series. if i try to boot using the live.plist it tells me when i get to root and type bootlive; exit that no drives found (network or local). i have computer booting from the usb hdd thinking maybe that would make it see it but alas it sees neither of my drives so i can not even get past the first stage of the install...if i type exit instead of bootlive;exit it tries to start the live feature but keeps saying disk1 marked as read only...if i try to tell it a root device during the initial boot all is says is still waiting for root device....it doesnt matter what i put for the root device it still just sits there....please help me if you can...i have been at this for about a week and have gotten no further than when i started and i would like to try osx but i am about to pull my hair out...thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and offering any help...
