Retail Leopard on Intel DX58SO / Core i7 920?

Hi all,

 

I'm new here, contemplating a new build. I see a lot of people are succeeding with the Gigabyte X58 mobos, but I would prefer the Intel DX58SO. Has anybody managed a *retail* Leopard install updated to 10.5.7 on a system built around this mobo and a Core i7 CPU?

 

I've Googled extensively and it seems like people haven't had much success (though maybe not many people have tried). It seems like it should work well, since it is probably closer to Apple's i7 Mac Pro mobos than the Gigabyte ones would be.
