Hi,

this may have been asked before but I quick search didn't turn out any results.

I'm trying to turn my old VAIO PCG-K215S into a Hackintosh.

The whole process went fine except for sound and WLAN.

While I can live without sound for some time WLAN is a must-have!

The VAIO has a on-board Atheros card with PCI ID 168c,13 "LAN-Express AS IEEE 802.11a/g miniPCI Adapter".

I followed many different guides on the forums but I was not able to get it to work on 10.5.2 (Kalyway).

My guess is that the issue is related to the integrated cardbus which seems to prevent the Atheros kext from

working properly. The bus in question is a TI PCI7420 cardbus with PCI ID 104c:ac8e.

Neither the cardbus nor the wifi card seem to work with the available kexts / guides.

In verbose boot I get these two specific messages:

IOPCCardBridge::start failed
...
start [/SourceCache/AirPortDriverAtheros5424/AirPortDriverAtheros5424-200.4/M35a /src/driver/AtherosController.cpp:409] loaded unsuccessfully

Source line varies with used Atheros kext..

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Shirk
