Running Vista Ultimate x32 with Vmware 6.5 Build 118166

I'm able to use a perfectly burned Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD (burned at 4x and installed on a multi-boot laptop with this version) in the host drive. It loads and I get the mkdir error stating the drive is in read only mode. I've edited the *.vmw file to represent guestos="darwin" and tried a few other suggestions found in threads, to no avail. I have the paevm="true" as the first line. I've tried to use other/other and freebsd/freebsd. I also have tried the enhancements of the Processor in VMWare and it still yields the same result. The farthest I've gotten it to go was to get he colorful background of the OS and then it just hangs. I usually get to the gray screen but no spinning pinwheel, again it just hangs. I've read every thread I can before posting this and utilized the search function extensively. I could use some fresh ideas if anyone has them.

Thank you in advance.

*EDIT* Downloading the latest VMWare update which will bring it to 6.5.2. Will post back with results.

*EDIT 2* Installed the latest VMWare update, now on 6.5.2 Build 156735 and still getting continual mkdir and "too many crashes...". I set the Processor to Intel VT-x or AMD-V and it got me to the gray screen with no pinwheel. Going to try the next processor option which is Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI...which didn't work either. ;) I'm stuck, please offer some suggestions.

*EDIT 3* Tried changing scsi.present="FALSE" in the *.vmx file and now I'm playing around with the Processor settings. Still nothing.

*EDIT 4* Got a different GUI error this time. Tried to catch as much data from the error logs as I could but check the latest screenshot. I just did a reboot and didn't change a thing and this is what I got, see last screen. Got to the background with spinning pinwheel. GRR It's SO random!
