Lightsout565 Posted May 26, 2009 Share Posted May 26, 2009 I installed osx86 using ipc 10.5.6 using the 9.5.0 voodoo kernel with seatbelt fix and sometimes when I boot I will get a kernel panic and sometimes I wont. During iPC 10.5.6 install I selected: 9.5.0 voodoo kernel, legacy time machine fix, ALC882, Dual boot time sync, seatbelt.kext 10.5.5, PS2 keyboard fix. Severnaya Posted May 27, 2009 Share Posted May 27, 2009 Maybe when you were working on your Nvidia Geforce 8600GT it might have set off the panic. This happened when I was trying to get my network card working it kept kernel panicking. You should try to look for a different kext or use NVInject. Hope this helps. Lightsout565 Posted May 27, 2009 Author Share Posted May 27, 2009 I did a complete reinstall and didn't choose any option for the Kernels, so it should default to 9.6.0. But, It wouldn't boot, I tried using cpus=1 but still nothing. Do I still have to use the seatbelt.kext with 9.6.0? I didn't select it during the install. xXrkidXx Posted May 27, 2009 Share Posted May 27, 2009 selecting nothing on a iPC install means you are trying to boot a vanilla kernel(meaning retail compatibility) unless you want to "buy" a retail DVD or burn one from the usual places i suggest selecting voodoo, and just downloading the 9.6.0 voodoo kernel and trying to install it. all you do is install the package and on your next boot type in "mach_kernel.voodoo" without the quotes.
