[DELL] XPS 420 Successes and Failures

Hey Guys,

 

I wanted to compile a list of different distros, settings, etc used to install osx on a Dell XPS 420. As people post I'll continue to update this thread.

 

Please use this format -

 

Distro: (if using a retail disc, please note here)

Customize options during install:

 

Any special bios settings used.

Any custom drivers: (both using boot method and during install of distro)

Any Comments:

 

 

Successes

iPC 10.5.6 Final DVD - updated to 10.5.7 using combo update

(will put customize options here when reinstall)

 

Raid: off

Chameleon 2.0 w/ Intel82566MM.kext, disabler.kext and LegacyAppleIntelPIIXATA.kext (not sure if needed)

Sound is still an issue, using custom dump with AppleHDAPatcherv1.20 first then 1.12 second. Sound process needs to be repeated on every reboot.
