merid Posted May 5, 2006 Share Posted May 5, 2006 installed osx on my extra 20gig ata drive, i have windows on my 160gb sata drive. i installed 0Sx 10.4.4 with the patch to the 20gig, installed fine. but when i go to reboot my comptuer will post and then it freezes! only way to get it to do anything else is to unplug the 20 gig. i dont know what to do i've looked everywhere!! here is my system. 3500+ Newcastle 2x 160gig sata 1x 20gig ata 1x nec dvd burner msi k8n neo2 nforce3 ultra (latest bios) x800xt pe (agp) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16788-wont-boot-past-post/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
Quasimidi Posted May 5, 2006 Share Posted May 5, 2006 Download the 10.4.6 DVD plus the PPF patch from JAS, then try to reinstall your system. That should work on your config. Also try tightening ur cable Push it in harder I already know the HDD isnt bad. i've changed the jumper settings to everything and nothing works. I'm i just SOL until i get 10.4.6? because i cant get it here where i am. also could it be because windows is on a sata drive and mac on primary master PATA? because it gets to the end of the POST screen and just freezes, i cant even get into bios. and i've tried this several times.
