MoulDTR
Hello everyone. I spent the whole last night+day trying to install Mac OS on a NC10. Pretty hard at first (never seen Mac OS before). Anyway, afer a few restores, Mac OS X was working, but no Airport WiFi . Here is what I tried, and worked with my NC10 (I really hope this would work for everyone, I went with this). 1. Started by installing the 10.5.6 Mysticus release 2. Erased the IO80211Family.kext from /System/Library/Extensions 3. Installed this .kext, thanks robbo18, following that exact procedure: (forget the first lines, start @ "open finder to /System/Library/Extensions", and of course, change the command lines ith AirPortAtheros5424 by AirPortAtheros), thanks matthieu/ergosteur. 4. Adding at the end a kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions 5. Downloaded (through old-fashioned but still efficient Ethernet networking) and installed KisMAC r319. 6. Restarted the computer 7. Got a kernel Panic during the boot, and restarted again (regular boot) the machine 7. I then followed another topic I found, but can't find the link (sorry ). I opened System Preferences/network, and there surprise, the airport card was found (but impossible to activate). 8. Closing this window, I then opened KisMac. In the preferences, added the AirPort Extreme card, with a passive mode and started scanning. After a few seconds, wireless networks were seen !! 9. Closed KisMAC and clicked on the Airport icon (next to the sounds/bluetooth icons) and selected connect to a network. I'll let you guess what was next ... 10. Warning: anytime you want to use WiFi connection, you HAVE start KisMAC as soon as the computer has started, let it scan a few seconds (basically, restart from step 8). Otherwise, Airport app won't find anything ... Good Luck, I hope this works for everyone ... Edmund_maclover
I am using samsung nc10. I want to install mac os x and I chose Kalyway 10.5.2. And of course my wifi doesn't work. I asked many people and they said I have to swap my card or buy a usb. Is it true? Or do I have to just follow your instruction and everything gets worked? Do I have to update to 10.5.6 from 10.5.2 to follow this process?
