Well, after Vista crashed, and XP died twice, I was determined to get OSX working on my Acer laptop.

After a bit of trial and error, I have everything working, except for my wireless internet, sound and blu-ray drive.

I'm using a dual boot with 3 partitions, one for Leopard 10.5.6, one for Windows XP and one just for plain data such as my documents etc.

First off, my specs. I'm using an Acer Aspire 8920G laptop, a pretty high end laptop. Full HD screen, blu-ray drive, etc.

Here's a link to my Everest report: http://www.140designs.com/PCReport.txt

And here's a link to my CPU-Z report: http://www.140designs.com/cpuz.htm

I would love to get some help on my sound and internet, since I'm guessing there won't be any blu-ray drive drivers.

I've looked around the forum, and found out that there are no working drivers for my WiFi card yet.

Everest told me I have an Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN.

So searched for drivers for it, found some experimental drivers on the forums, installed them and found out they didn't work.

The problem is, I don't have a WLAN switch, just a button. So normally when I'm in windows, an orange LED will light up to tell me wireless is activated. But when I press the same button in Mac, nothing happens.

So basicly, I'm unable to even activate my Wireless card.

Unless anyone else has more information on the matter?

Then the problem with my sound. At the first installation of OSX I only selected a single driver, the one I thought it would be. However, my audio did not work. Then, when I tried to change the volume on the touchscreen next to my keyboard (this is also the only way I can change my audio volume externally) I just got the volume pop-up on screen with an error sign. On the next (and current) installation I just selected almost all audio drivers during the Leopard installation. Still no audio. But when I used the touchscreen volume slide I got the volume popup on screen, and the audio level actually changed, but I still didn't hear anything.

The Everest and dxdiag report tell me I have a Realtek HD Audio output card, which isn't very helpfull. At a certain point I found out what my audio card's type was, but I seem to have lost the txt I put it in.

Is there an easy way to find out?

I would really appreciate some help. ;)

Regards,

Nick Betting
