My system:

Zotac GeForce 9300 wifi, E7400, Corsair 2GB RAM, 150W Picopsu, 10.5.6 with Chameleon 2.0RC bootloader. Kexts in Extra/Extensions: AppleDecrypt; IntelCPUPMDisabler, Openhaltrestart. Kexts in S/L/E: NVKush, VoodooPower and modified: AppleAHCIPort, AppleSMBIOS.

This system is a nice one apart from an irritating problem. When doing a normal Shutdown, it will on restart give a CMOS error and I need to reset BIOS again. This is systematically happening to me. If I do a Restart, no error and all is good. If I do a hard Shutdown by holding down the power button then again, no apparent error....

Also, if from a no error situation I do something such as flash bios and turn off, or go to the bootloader screen and switch off I again get no error.

This is puzzling me. At first I did not spot the systematic nature of this and got a replacement Mobo under warranty, but this has not cured problem. It is not the battery. The BIOS seems to be the latest.

I have been wondering about CPU compatability with this board as it is not on the ZOTAC compatability list, but it is very similar and no higher power than others on the list. I have emailed ZOTAC to ask if there are any known issues with my combination but have not heard back from them.

My question to you out there is has anyone else had a similar experience and do you have any ideas for me? I only have OSX to test from, so cannot check with Windows.

Thanks for suggestions......

Hello

i have a problem also that i think it has to do with being BIOS and not EFI... my Gigabyte P965 DS3R has the shutdown/restart problem and i have my cpu overclocked. in windows i have 0 problems but with mac when i restart it no longer boots or loses the overclocking and resets it self. i think the problem is in acpi features. when that happens i have to pull the plug and then it starts normally. i think is just an incompatibility with osx. it's the price to pay... i dont restart/shutdown the osx, i just simply reset the computer when i want to reebot and open windows. if someone knows how to solve this it would be wonderfull. i have everything working, 8gb, audio azalia, 9600gt, bluetooth, lan, just like a real mac. performance is great but the shutdown/restart drives me crazy too. with the 10.5.5 and 10.5.6 it would restart normally but sometimes it wouldnt boot from the first boot device and 90% off the times it would shutdown properly but with the 10.5.7 it's just impossible.
