ScorpioSG
Hi .... my gratitude to all who contributed, thus allowing me to successfully install MacOSX 10.5.7 on Dell Precision M6300 albeit a couple of issues which is nice to have them fix. Generally all is well and I am contented. Bought a new SATA HD and the retail Leopard OSX DVD 10.5.6 from a Mac Dealer friend .... he insisted that I get a Mac Keyboard and Mouse since I am building a Hackintosh. Started off from Virtual Mac (VMWare) on PC building a retail install using Universal Installer on a USB Pendrive. Choose this method as I do not own a Mac. Boot-off from the Pen Drive and repeat the installation using Universal Installer on the new SATA HD with the retail DVD. Upgrade to 10.5.7 and patch it Universal Installer. Boot-off SATA HD ..... had most of the components working. Video - 1024 x 768 USB - All ports working Firewire Functional CD Eject Functional Laptop Keyboard & Trackpad - Not functional (connect a cordless PS2 mouse and keyboard) Bluetooth - Functional Wireless - Working Ethernet - Not functional Sleep/Reboot/Shutdown - Functional Audio - Nope Not tested .... external DVI/VGA port, modem (had it disable anyway) and TV Out Made a back-up copy of the bootable HD (which I had to use a couple of times to restore) Fix the keyboard and trackpad ... reboot ... trackpad and laptop keyboard working. Fix the audio (Sigmatel 9205) .... reboot ... working only with external speaker ... control button on the front panel working. Mic-in not test ... but preference says it has built-in with no control. Fix Video using NVKush .... reboot .... 1920x1200 resolution 32 bits color ... wonderful Install 2 Finger Scrolling ... working .... but don't like it. With all those done ... 2 items that work before is not functioning. 1. Restart/Shutdown ... it will power down but not actually powering off. Has to press the power button to reboot or shutdown. 2. Bluetooth is not there anymore. Restore back-up and trace the fault .... found that the Bluetooth not functioning after patching the Keyboard .... and found ApplePS2Controller.kext is the culprit. Search the net as well as this forum and others .... it seems everyone is having the same problem with no fix. On one occasion, when I install IOBluetoothFamily.kext after had it remove and system reboot .... the Bluetooth is now working. I repeat the process .... by removing the kext and reboot ... no bluetooth .... install back the kext .... the Bluetooth is back functioning .... tested pairing with my phone .... as is well. Such I am seeking pointers and perhaps help .... where I want the system to delete the IOBluetoothFamily.kext upon reboot/shutdown and install back the kext when powering up. Why I am asking this is because I had tried a couple others of ApplePS2Controller.kext .... it result is the same. As for the shutdown/restart .... I tried with NVinject & NVinjectGo, result is the same .... and finally is used back NVKush as I found this is better with more option ... so, I also appreciate any pointer to this as well. Finally, Ethernet Port ... M6300 uses Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5756ME Gigabit PCI Express [14e4:1674] .... and I appreciate pointers to this as well. I also tried VoodooPower ... it works, VoodooBattery ... it works as well. I am still playing around and appreciate the pointers requested above. Cheers and happy hackintoshing. Trouble only with Reboot and Shutdown as soon as I activate FX1600M with Iniejctor Thanks mate. I will check out your bluetooth fix. Should this fix .... then the only problem left is the restart/shutdown. Edit: Bluetooth fix with your ApplePS2Controller kext. Cheers and Thanks. I am using Wifi that came with the machine .... Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card Wireless Network Adapter ... which only provide b/g. BTW .... mine is T7800, bought it last year sometime in Feb'08 in Singapore. I also purchased Zyxel USB Wireless Adapter .... and now I am getting N-Draft signal ... but missing Airport indicator. I also install Huawei mobile broadband and that works as well. BTW .... when at home, I remove the battery and direct connect to power source. BTW, try this color calibration ... the screen is more vibrant. Cheers! color_calibrations.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/166860-dell-precision-m6300/#findComment-1172618 Share on other sites
FlyingSaucer
Very Very good you are welcome!!!!. Now we must correct reboot/shutdown.... I'm working hard to solve it with DSDT, Chamaleon 2.0 with override.... someone in this thread Lecterj2 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=90306 tells that everything is ok if he use NVKUSH.kext to activate Video Card... I need that kext and investigate... P.S. Try asking for nvkush.kext in that thread.
