verdant
installing your nvidia kext the os stops on light blue screen again... but with the procedure i remove the nvidia kext so the quartz are not supported... 1. Have you reinstalled 10.5.6 video kexts with Kext Helper b7? 2. Does your nVidia 6800 GS graphics card have one VGA and one DVI port......are you connected to the port nearest to the MOBO?.......if not can you switch to that DVI port? 3. Have you re-installed 10.5.6 OpenGL.framework? 4. Do you have NVinject or NVkush or NVdarwin injector kext installed? If you can boot with -v -x you need to find your graphics card ID by installing OSx86Tools and click on View PCI Device/vendor ID..... You then need to insert the graphics card ID in the NVDANV40Hal.kext and NVDAResman.kext Info.plist files, and put the ID plus the correct NVCAP value and IOProbeScore value in the injector kext Info.plist using Property List Editor...... Since you have already added your graphics card ID to NVDAResman.kext and NVDANV40Hal.kext, add it to GeForce.kext too under IOPCIMatch, then repair permissions on Extensions again..... sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions sudo chmod -R go-w /System/Library/Extensions sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions and then reboot with -v -f and let me know what happens.... phate89
@ phate89 If you do not have CI/QE you will see in System Profiler under Graphics/Displays,1024x768 resolution 32-bit Color depth and 32MB VRAM with Software Driven CI and QE Not Supported, and against Kernel Extension Info: No kext loaded..... Since you have an old series card, instead of NVinject or NVkush, try the Natit edited.kext from here..... nothing changed...but the video card is recognised properly.. phate89
i found a solution! i reinstall mac os x...and instead of delete the nvdia kext (nvdaresman,nv40dal etc) to boot the os, replace the nvinject with the old one with the right string and the right code, reinstall all nvidia kext with correct code i only open the partition of mac os x when it finish to install with windows xp and macdrive 7 (great app!), edit the nvcap of the info file of the last invinject (0.2.1) using the right string... reboot the mac, configure the account and now works perfectly! all this stuff for replace a wrong string!
