hello everyone,,,i installed ideneb 1.3, i don't remember what settings i use for it but it works fine...but after an apptent of update it with the upgrade kit the os stopped working..so i download and try with ideneb 1.4...with this settings:

  • Kernel:
  • 9.5.0 Voodoo (Intel/AMD/SSE2/SSE3)
  • Ethernet:
  • nForceEthernetDriver
  • Fix:
  • AppleSMBIOS 1.0.13
  • System Utilities:
  • GenericCPUPowerManagementControl
  • Nvidia:
  • NVdarwin 1.2.5 256Mb
  • Audio:
  • AC97Audio
  • Chipset:
  • AppleNForceATA
  • Applicazioni:
    Adium
    ASU
    BetterZip
    Colloquy
    Change Finder
    Kext Helper
    Menu Meters
    Onyx
    OSx86 Tools
    Pacifist
    Temperature Monitor
    Transmission

the installation works well..at the end the pc normally reboot and i succeed to configure the user and all the guided configs..but when i confirm the last option and end the configurations the screen became grey/light blue (i don't remember) like when the gui is loading...the mouse works and i can move the punter...but never load the interface and i stay with an empty interface...if i reboot i had the same result..what could be the problem? what i can do?

Do not select GenericCPUPowerManagementControl and nForceEthernetDriver and try with AppleSMBIOS Mac Pro......then boot with -v -f and report what your boot screen shows.....if the screen goes light blue it usually indicates a video driver problem.....intially install OS X without selecting a video, network and audio driver.....concentrate on getting the basic OS X system working.....

without GenericCPUPowerManagementControl and nForceEthernetDriver and with AppleSMBIOS Mac Pro the same result...light blue screen...now i try without video, network and audio driver

seeems that 6800 gs doesn't work with 10.5.6...how is this possible? with 10.5.5 works :)

http://www.infinitemac.com/f5/geforce-6800...c-10-5-6-t1907/

i don't understand what i have to do to let it work...

You could try using your 10.5.5 versions of NVDAResman.kext and NVDANV40Hal.kext and whichever NVinjector kext you used before, remembering to repair permissions in Terminal:

sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions
sudo chmod -R go-w /System/Library/Extensions
sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions.mkext

then reboot....

Can you boot with -v -x......?

with -v -x i load the os and arrive to the choose of the user..when i enter with my user it stop in the light blue screen

You need to boot with -s and remove the installed 10.5.6 video kexts by doing as follows:

1. So, after rebooting by typing -s at the boot: prompt and waiting for the prompt

:/ root# to appear, type each of the following lines, followed by Enter and then waiting for :/ root# to re-appear:

mount -uw /
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NVD*.kext
exit

and when i removed the kext files how can i install an old kext?

If you can now boot into OS X with -v -x or just -v, you can use Kext Helper b7 to install the old kexts which you can extract from a 10.5.5 OS X distro .iso image or DVD using Pacifist.....

Under System Profiler do you see under Graphics/Displays:

32MB VRAM

Kernel Extension Info: No kext loaded

1024x768 resolution

32-bit Color depth

CI Software Driven

QE Not Supported

then add your device ID to the Info.plist file of NVDAResman.kext, NVDANV40Hal.kext, your chosen NVinjector (either NVinject or NVkush.kext or NVdarwin ), and at the same time set the correct NVCAP string correctly (see here) and replace the IOProbeScore number by 0.

The Info.plist is found by going to /System/Library/Extensions/ and for each.kext > Show Contents by right-click > Contents directory > Info.plist

First thing to try when booting up to a blue screen with mousepointer is to plug your monitor into the other output on your video card and reboot.

OS X' nVidia drivers seem to prefer the monitor to be plugged in to the output that's closest to the motherboard.

i don't have NVDAResman.kext and NVDANV40Hal.kext...probably because to let work the os with your procedure i delete it..how can i solve?

You can install the Leopard nVidia kexts from here.....

The Info.plist file can be opened using TextMate, TextWrangler, Property List Editor, TextEdit.....it will be like
