SundarNET
Hi there all this is my first post I am going to make it simple so I hope its sufficient my hardware specs M/B : ASUS M3N78-VM / MPC78s chipset (m/b bios reports ALC883 audio codec, vista reports VT1702b ) CPU : AM2+ X2 7750 Black ED @2.7Ghz 3mb Cache RAM : OCZ 4GB DDR2 1066Mhz 2x2gb VGA: Inno 3D G8800GTS 640m (G80) OC DVD : Pioneer SATA 18x DVD-RW HDD : WD 160G SATA2 I used this hardware to install a dual boot system running both Leopard and Vista, hard drive can be changed to suit obviously. Bios HDD controller is set to AHCI mode most other setting are default I tried different configs and they all worked. for my Leopard install I used iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 I had to use verbose to get it to boot I don't know why partitioned the drive 2 ways and resized accordingly, first partition HFS to install mac and second FAT to install vista on later. I then proceeded to install iDeneb using these driver options, for the chipset I used the existing MPC driver in the supplied list no audio no network Nvinject 0.2.1 640m version 9.4.0.kernel had to be selected no fixes so as to get the basic install working once booted found myself in a welcome loop ' I suspect due to not having any network installed ' used single user boot and this to stop the loop at boot -s for single user mode /sbin/fsck -fy /sbin/mount -uw / touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone passwd root 'enter new password for root' rebooted logged into root and created a new user for general usage, logged into new user account installed Nforce network driver v0.62.12n MSI disabled option reboot then installed the voodoo audio driver and system config app obtained off these forums 'sorry you'll have to search' after another reboot Leopard is pretty much as good as its going to get you can use those options without the disk partitioning to make a Leopard only install Vista install now this may be a little different to what is out there but I found this to be the easiest way for me I then continued to install Vista which in turn disables the booting of Leopard, no matter continue installing until fully installed all reboots done, for my strange method I used Hiren's boot CD V9.3 which doesn't work in AHCI mode, so go into your BIOS and change your HDD controller back to SATA mode ' with this particular motherboard the 2 black SATA connectors will not function in this mode so your drives must be connected to the others for functionality ', boot from Hiren's CD v9.3 and go to Disk partition tools then run Paragon Partiton Recovery Server and only load the ATA driver, once the program starts it will present you with a very nice GUI, right click on your vista partition and from there you can make your drive NOT ACTIVE for booting once you have done this you can reboot the computer return to the BIOS and change the HDD controller back to AHCI mode, replace your iDeneb install disk, reboot. Now Leopard will start again with chameleon loader from the install disk, now start OSX86Tools in your iDeneb App folder and reinstall your chameleon bootloader remove you iDeneb install disk, reboot ........ then choose your OS the only issue I have is the DVD drive sometimes wont work, but due to the ATA controller being set to AHCI mode the drives are fully hot swappable and you can just replug your burner and it will start working a small hassle but hey Leopard runs AMAZINGLY FAST!!! I haven't tried but am pretty sure you would be able to repeat this process but make it 3x partitions 1xHFS 2xFAT and do a vista/XP dual boot setup before reinstalling Chameleon Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/166506-guide-m3n78-vm-1055-ideneb-install/ Share on other sites

(sorry for ma bad english, im speak spanish) bye bye. sorry I should have mentioned that is was an added video card due to the onboard GF8200 not having support yet I found it easier to add a video card to the system rather than try and get the onboard card working, I am now using M4N78 PRO /w GF8300 onboard but no support for that either so still using the 8800GTS Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/166506-guide-m3n78-vm-1055-ideneb-install/#findComment-1201351 Share on other sites
