When I boot using my computer's DVD drive with the iATKOS DVD in, the Apple logo and loading screen comes up (it's the very first screen in the install process, before any windows come up and everything's gray in color, with the dark gray Apple logo). However, after a while a crossed out circle appears on top of the Apple logo and nothing happens after that. When I boot with -v it says it's still looking for something I believe? I'll retry it in a sec and edit the post with the actual message. EDIT: Message I get when I boot with -v is "Still waiting for root device".

I checked the MD5 sum of the ISO, and burned two copies of the disk using Nero burning at a slow speed (I believe it was 4x). Also, the DVDs have worked for other purposes, so I doubt the DVDs are the problem.

Here are the important specs from my comp (if anything else is needed, let me know):

EVGA LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI ATX Mobo

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor

EVGA GeForce 9800 GT Gfx Card

Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA HDD

All help is appreciated :(

Thanks in advance,

Ligor

EDIT: Added the actual message I got ("Still waiting for root device")

EDIT 2: Went through part of the thread that's based around getting this to work with 750i boards, and I setup my BIOS to match what was listed there. I'm still getting the same error.

Here's where I believe everything starts going downhill (it's what happens when I boot with -v):

AppleNForceATA: warning: phy connection failed. status=0x00000000
 AppleNForceATA: Found 0 units
USBF: 0.948 EHCI controller unable to take control from BIOS
USBF: 0.950 AppleUSBEHCI[0x667d800]: unable to obtain ownership: 0xe00002bc
 USBF: 0.954 AppleUSBEHCI[0x677d800]::UIMInitialize - error occurred (0xe00002bc)
USBF: 0.959 AppleUSBEHCI: unable to initialize UIM
USBF: 5.682 AppleUSBEHCI[0x651b000]::CheckSleepCapability-OHCI controller will be unloaded across sleep
 Still waiting for root device

And then it continues to say "Still waiting for root device". I don't know how useful this actually is, but I figured I'd put it here in case it's helpful in some way for anyone.

EDIT 3: I tried booting with "-v rd=disk0s2" and "-v cpus=1 rd=disk0s2" and both have the same results. They get me past the "Still waiting for root device" error, but I now get a kernel panic. Here's what shows up after it tells me it got the boot device:

panic(cpu 0 caller 0x002D88DE):"nfs_boot_init failed with 6\n"@/Volumes/disk1s2/leo_xnu/xnu-1228/bsd/nfs/nfs_vfsops.c:851
Debugger called: <panic>
...Backtrace stuff here...
BSD process name corresponding to current thread: kernel_task
Mac OS version:
Not yet set
Kernel version:
Darwin Kernel Version 9.1.0:Sat Nov 17 02:56:34 SCT 2007; made by TOH:xnu-1228.0.2~1/BUILD/obj/RELEASE+I386

And it sticks there indefinitely

Also worth noting, for clarification: It's getting stuck before any options are given to me (after the Darwin bootloader that is). The part that it's getting stuck at is the beginning loading screen on the DVD.

All help is much appreciated. If anyone can point me to another thread or anything to try to get this issue resolved, that would be helpful also. Please read the first post for more details. I'll try to keep things updated on there.

Thanks in advance,

Ligor
