I'm getting the same thing on a LG E300 laptop model A.CPB2A9

-> I tried to install a few versions of linux but couldn't partition from the boot disk.

-> I was able to partition and install Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.04

The hard drive in this laptop is a Hitachi 5K250 - Model HTS54252K9A300 SATA 3.0GB/s 5400 RPM 5V 700mA.

My steps:

1. go to BIOS, select DVD drive to be 1st on boot and save the settings.

2. place bootloader cd in the drive and wait for it to load.

3. type -v cpus=1 and press enter

4. replace the cd with the iatkos 10.5.5 DVD and press enter.

5. it reads it for a while, then I see the apple logo

6. then I see the beautiful blue background and then the installation page.

7. At this point I go to the menu and select the Disk Utility

8. The page opens but there is NO Hard Drive in there :P

I went back to the BIOS to see if I could change the SATA information, but couldn't find any option.

Please help.
