I'm having some issues trying to boot into osx on my HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop.

I started with 2 partitions: xp pro sp3 on the first one, and the second one blank. then I installed Leopard with iAtkos_5i onto the second partition. At first, I was getting a boot0:error, but I managed to fix it in the install disk's terminal.

I then did the chain0 method to add osx to the c: drive (1st partition) in xp and tried to boot into osx.

Upon loading, I get a grey apple loading screen with a white crossed circle (can't find hard drive?), and hangs indefinitely. I did the "-v" command on boot, and it gave me a "still waiting for root" error.

I suppose I should list my specs:

HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop

intel core 2 duo cpu t5550 @ 1.83ghz

987 mhz, 3.00 gb of RAM

wdc WD3200BECT-60ZCT0 disk drive (no idea what that means)

NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

realtek high def audio

(also, i think intel ich8 family pci express root was listed, don't know what this is either)

if there's something missing from that list that's relevant please let me know.

Anyway, I'm completely lost and any help would be appreciated. I'm a noob when it comes to installing anything but windows, but I really really want to use osx, and I'm so close i can taste it. D:

thanks in advance
