Zaap
Download and run Ubuntu as a LiveCD with whatever PC you have access to now. See if you even like it, and don't go by some silly "it just works" hype. Also, go to a store if possible, and check out the MacBook you want. Ultimately, base the decision on what you need a computer for, and what applications you want to run. Also keep in mind that it doesn't have to be an either/or. With a little work you can run Ubuntu on the Macbook alongside OSX, or in a Virtual Machine, and conversely you can get a PC capable of running OSX and Ubuntu. FreakyMac
I have used Ubuntu and i like it, I have ran OSX86 on my old Dell Laptop, The only thing why i can't use it now cause my hard drive crashed and the Graphics Card was not supported. I know that you can run the OS's side-by-side and I have done both Vista and Mac OS X on my POS Dell Laptop. When it comes to chooseing things, Kinda hard lol. and so far, Ubuntu "just works" when i use livecd on any computer i have used/fix and more, and Mac, I've alwaysed wanted one, But...Ubuntu or Mac... Shadow Sorcerer
You could always get a MacBook and install Ubuntu on it. If nothing else, this keeps your options open. OS X non-Apple hardware can be a little hit or miss. But you know that it will always be an option if you get a Mac. FWIW, my general experience with Apple hardware had been good. Even in the event that you do have a problem, support is usually pretty good about getting things back in order. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MactelSup...telInstallation HTH Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/166222-buy-a-pc-and-install-ubuntu-linux-or-macbook/#findComment-1155603 Share on other sites
