Hi,

Is there an app or a way to create a backdrop that covers everything onscreen except video? Something like fullscreen, but keeping the video at its native size. Also the idea is to have it work with any video source; like Youtube, Hulu, Vimeo, etc.

I like Hulu's 'lower lights' option, but I want it black.

Do you mean you want to take a snapshot in this videos?

YouTube videos is FLV format and HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), Hulu videos is also FLV format but RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol). Perhaps you can try Mac video converter, it can capture pictures while previewing the movie, also enable to convert .flv video to .mp4, .avi, MPEG, .mov, .3gp, .mp3, etc.

The "Settings" option let you select the screen proportion, such as: fullscreen, 4:3, 16:9.

No, just a way to hide the onscreen clutter while watching videos; without necessarily going fullscreen. An app that, no matter the video source, would "lower the lights" and blackout everything but the video.
