Rexxar
I recently installed OS X on my laptop (Kalyway 10.5.2), and I updated it to 10.5.3, with the package I got when I DL'd the DVD. I got the 10.5.4 combo update dmg from Apple, because I read that you can update to that with no trouble. Well, I got trouble. Every time I turn my laptop on since I tried to update, it'll get to the gray screen with the apple logo, sit there for about a minute, then tell me to restart my computer. what do I do? I don't want to reformat my laptop.. Oh, and when I boot in verbose mode, it says package 0 didn't get an HPET like 15 times, and stops after a few more lines of text.. Rexxar
Okay. This has happened to me before, any tips on avoiding it? And can I update from 10.5.2 to 10.5.6 without a lot of difficulty? caa4444
meh... its easier if u have an Intel processor, if u do then install iATKOS 5i link: http://iatkos.wikidot.com/ to avoid it without changing to iATKOS, read all of the update guides really well pretty much anything using PC_EFI v9 works for Intels, AMDs are out of luck, u need to do the custom kernel post-update stuff, kinda lot of stuff Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/166106-stuck-in-a-loop-after-update-to-1054/#findComment-1155396 Share on other sites
