neyman
Hello, currently I'm running a Intel D975XBX2 (Bad Axe 2) with Leo4Allv3. (in order to boot I need to have the Leo4All disc in the drive ) Now I bought a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 and want to set up OSX properly. Unfortunately I don't have a SATA DVD drive, only a PATA/IDE drive. How do I install OSX86 with the EP45 mobo without a SATA DVD drive? I have a 8GB thumbdrive that may be used. Thanks a lot in advance! The current setup looks like this. Mobo: Bad Axe 2 CPU: Core2Duo 2.66GHz RAM: 2048MB DDR2 HDD: SATA 320GB DVD: PATA/IDE LG Swapping the BA2 for the EP45 won't work, as my current OSX install (Leo4All) does not start without its install DVD. Sorry about my english. Thanks for your reply. So installing OSX from a PATA drive will work with this motherboard?! I thought OSX does not support the board's IDE controller...? How did you put your installation to the usb drive? edit: Did you use two usb drives (boot + retail) in order to boot the retail image off the other drive? I used galaxy boot to boot both installations. And they are diferent installations one of leopard 10.5.6 (installed from usb driver) and another of macosx server (installed from a pionner pata writer).
