onedayhero
Hello Currently i'm running 10.5.2 (Kalyway) perfectly aside from some minor isues, such as waitinf gor my mini PCIE card to arive and some reboot/restart problems when installing my graphic card's driver. I want to upgrade to 10.5.6, since it is the latest from apple. My question is: which distribution fits my needs the best? I'm using an XPS m1530 but i don't have a dual-layer burner, so i can't burn dual layer dvds. There is a chance that i could call some help of some of my friends if it is really needed. If there's any way to update to 10.5.6 it would be even better, but i supose i need a new isntall. I heard from iPC osx86 which uses a dual-layer install disc, if it's the last option i'd choose it. which are my other choices and what would you recommend? (btw, i can run the original vanilla kernel just fine) thank you in advance, Koen Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/165988-osx86-1056/ Share on other sites

See my detailed write-up for nForce chipset + Intel CPU MOBOs here....it should clarify the file names for you..... onedayhero
See my detailed write-up for nForce chipset + Intel CPU MOBOs here....it should clarify the file names for you..... my bet , didn't see it. Thanks for all your help though, i'll try to update it this evening. :censored2: Edit: Trying to update (and i followed the guid step by step) crached my OS, i'm unable to use a keyboard/mouse (nor external ones) so i can't log into OSX anymore. Guess i'll just download the 10.5.7 when it's released. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/165988-osx86-1056/#findComment-1154907 Share on other sites

(btw, i can run the original vanilla kernel just fine) iPC does NOT need a dual layer disc. Their 'live cd', which gives you a bootable desktop environment off the CD does, but their regular install disk fits on a 4.7GB DVD.
