daratbastid
Currently running 10.4.6 Jas, if somebody says to replace a kext from 10.4.5, can I use the ones from the updates on the Apple website or do I need to use download torrents. I was told to replace IOPCIFamily.kext in order to get my PCMCIA wireless working, but now it keeps freezing at boot (-V reveals it is getting stuck at "WirelessAirPortDeviceNameCopy(): no AirPort driver found" What do I have to do to get this PC card working??? Did a chmod and chown to fix the permissions already The card is on the HCL list [Dlink/Atheros DWL-AG660] and my PCMCIA chipset is a Texas Instruments. Everything else is working as it should. Going NuTs! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16578-question-about-updates-on-apple/ Share on other sites
Shaunyboy
I also get this error, but it is when I am trying to install OSX86 10.4.6 from DVD. It comes up with the error: "WirelessAirportDeviceNameCopy(): no AirPort driver found" and then the install just hangs there. I don't even have a wireless network, or a card for it in my computer, so I'm not sure why I should be having a problem. Maybe I need to put a PCI network card in? Some help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Shaunyboy
Don't worry, I've fixed my problem, it was strangely just that an additional PCI display adapter needed to be removed.
