hello, is suitable the motherboard GA-G31M-ES2L with 4 gb RAM , and graphic card pci -e , for domestic work with Final cut?

I'm not a professional of video editing , but i like the programas works fine.

I'm think in GA-EP45 family , but is more expensive and seems it is a little problematics with shutdows and reatil installation. What's the best for retail installation and install updates apple?

I have a macbook with Leopard 10.5.6 can I use the DVD of installation of my macbook?

Can anyone help to deccission?

Sorry for my english. Thanks

The GA-G31M-ES2L works great for Final Cut Pro. Depending on what type of video you plan to edit, get a CPU that's as good as you can afford. Example: a Dual Core Pentium is fine for SD video. For HD, you'd probably want a good Core2 Duo, or Quad. Also you must have a graphic card that's hardware supported- CI/QE have to work.

The EP45-UD3P and other boards work fine- shutdown and sleep work fine, and of course retail installs. Some people are using older setup methods on these newer boards and then having problems, rather than trying to find the latest methods which work much better.

NO- you can't use a Macbook install DVD to install OSX using the Boot-132 method. You might be able to use your Macbook and DVD to install to an external, hack the install, then transfer the drive to your desktop, but I don't know for sure.

The best way is just to *BUY* a full retail OSX DVD.

Ok thanKs Zaap, yes i work with SD videos at the moment. It's the same for Final Cut Studio?

If I get the GA-G31M-ES2L and the next year , I change motherboard to GA-EP45 , processor, grahic, and rest of components , are ok for work with this other board ??

At the begining 4 GB of RAM is ok , but in the future I not sure.

Any recommendation for graphic card, to use with 2 monitors ???

thanks

Yes. And yes- the G31M uses the same CPU (socket 775), RAM (DDR2) and everything else as a P45 system.

Just about any supported card with two ports will work with 2 monitors, if you use one DVI and one VGA. This includes some cards with dual DVI ports- the 2nd monitor may only work with a DVI-to-VGA adapter.

The 8600GTS is a good inexpensive card where both DVI ports work. Better cards (IE: 8800GT, 9800GT, etc.) also work with dual DVI.
