i've had a hp nc6320 with lepard 10.5.6, minimal extra kexts using pcefi9, working fully (except cpus=1) for a while now.

three days ago i cloned the internal sata hd (hitachi 80gb) to an external usb->sata drive (wd 250gb), then placed the new cloned drive in the notebook.

now it won't sleep.

i have re-cloned the drive forward and backward. same issue.

old drive in notebook -> will sleep

new drive in notebook ->won't sleep

i have totally vanilla iatkos 5i upgraded to 10.5.6 system except the following in /extra/extensions:

disabler.kext

dsmos.kext

appleacpiplatform.kext (from iatkos 5i, x86 modified to allow ps2 kb/mouse)

can the firmware on a hard disc keep the computer from sleeping? what can i do?

thanks!

Hello ghoffman,

I have a similar hp nc6320 laptop and I have been trying to install osx on it with little success. Please could you tell me how you installed yours and the steps you took. Sorry to ask, I have been trying to get it to run for over 9 months now with little headway.

Many Thanks.
