Operating System not found

Ok so I have been trying to get this running for a week. I have been able to install iPC FINAL via VMware and everything goes through smoothly. However when it comes to starting up I get the error 'Operating System not found'.

 

I have read that this is becaue I need to setup the OSX partition as active.

 

However when I try to do this I run into a problem ...my partition table appears to be empty.

 

 

 

 

What have I dont wrong? I started with a blank disk and partitioned it using the ipc dvd disk utility to have 1 partition then I installed osx. I am using an entire physical 250gb sata disk for the OSX install.

 

My system:

AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core

Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5

SB600 chipset

4GB Gskill 1066 mhz RAM

1TB Samsung SATA HDD

Geforce 8800GT

 

Any ideas?
