HP DV6835nr - OS X needed

Hey guys, 

 

I am a long time lurker of the forums and have always wanted to install OS X on my HP DV6835nr lappy but now for school i HAVE to get it installed. I am majoring in graphic design and my school (Illinois Wesleyan) required Macs but I cannot afford the huge price tag. Ive heard that it is possible for MAC OS X to be installed nearly flawlessly but I am in the dark on how to do it. Specs: C2D T5550 1.83, 3 GB DDR2 RAM, Intel GMAX3100. I have tried to use an iAtkios DVD of 10.5 to no avail; i get stuck on the grey Apple screen with the spinning icon. 

 

Thanks for anyone's help with this seeing as though I have no other option but to get this to work. Id like to just get the OS installed and running and I can mess with the wireless, LAN, etc after I get into the system. Thanks for all your help!
