SnoutWeezel
iLOLz'd ... Patience my friend, I'm sure your tests for the Piggy Sneezels will turn out negative regarding your machine, good news and slightly ungood, but overall the hardware seems suited to OSx86 ... I use Dell Latitude e6400, which has same basic chipset and works very well and stable with 10.5.6 + AnV 9.6.0 kernel. Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26ghz (Centrino 2)nVidia GeForce 9600M GT --- will almost certainly work 100% Mobile Intel 4 Series Chipset: Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller --- works 100% (AnV or Snow Leopard kernel) Intel ICH9 Family AJ20KMU6 IDE Controller Intel WIFI Link 5100 AGN --- definitely will NOT work, get dell 1505, 1510 or similar Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Familty PCI-E GBE NIC --- probably will work 100% IDT High Definition Audio --- try Voodoo HDA kext, will almost certainly work 100% OTHER!!! HP Webcam --- if (internal) USB video will probably work, tho audio likely problematic HP DVB-T TV Tuner Validity Sensor Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad --- Voodoo PS2 kext will almost certainly work 100% JMicron B38X OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 --- as for chipset, mine works 100% ENE CIR Receiver (Infrared Remote Control) The stuff I have not commented, I don't know about or are secondary problems. Overall, I use + would recommend "XxX 10.5.6" release from TPB if sleep is not important to you, but PM me if you want more detail. Cheers. H0lyMackerel
I also have a HP HDX 16 with the same specs as PlutoDelic, but I'm fairly new to the OSX86 scene. I've installed JaS 10.4.8 on a Dell before, but the kexts on this one are a little strange. Which ones did you use to install it? I have a XxX 10.5.6 DVD ready, but when I try, I can only get a working install with no kexts in Customize at all. That means crappy res, and pretty much a useless install. HELP! PlutoDelic
well, the XXX strictly says not to install stuff u dont need. i've ran through the custom process, chose what i need and what SnoutWeezel told me to do and it ran perfect excluding the devices in my previous post. good news for u though, im new into this stuff too so give it a try, my epxeriment was done in a different hard drive.
