TheSchneid
I have a Gigabyte EP35-DS3R mobo with a 2.33 Duel Core running Kalyway 10.5.2 (Vanilla) and the AAC889 Audio kext with shutdown fix. Everything works perfectly smooth, other than the digital fiber optic audio output. In System Preferences > Sound > Output it lists a built in digital output but when clicked on says "the selected device has no output controls". I was wondering if there's anyway to get this working, as I use my Hackintosh mainly as a media center, and the digital sound is the only thing I miss from when I was running XP on the machine, as the standard headphone jack has vastly inferior audio quality. I appreciate any help you guys could give me. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/165247-gigabyte-ep35-ds3r-digital-audio-question/ Share on other sites
TheSchneid
Well... I now have the optical output working, but I cant control the volume through the OS, only through my receiver. Anyone know a fix to gain digital output volume control in OSX?
