Replacment for Intel 3945 ABG on Compaq 6720s + Way to Boot with battery and DSDT tables

I know the bios has almost all wireless cards blacklisted, i know it can support up to draft-n cuz if you look at hp's website it says there's a model that has Intel draft-n (4xxx).

I've been thinking on getting a Broadcom 57xxM cause i now it's fully compatible with this model (in fact, comes out of factory in some models) but i'd like to know if i can get an atheros draft-n on this laptop.

I think dell cards are blacklisted and i don't like the idea of trying to whitelist all and blowing up my bios.

Apart:

I've found the way to boot up the laptop with the DSDT tables modified and passing up the ACPI: Vector.

It's just this simple:

1 - Download DSDT modified tables (Download the ones from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php

act=attach&type=post&id=38825 (thanks to BlackCH)) and place them on the root (/) (copy DSDT.aml to dsdt.aml only)

2 - Download modified chamaleon bootloader (last version) http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=145792 and copy the ssdt2***** to / with the name boot

3 - Modify com.apple.boot.plist with the Preferences Editor and inside the branch root add a new one named DSDT (string) and it value is: none.dsl (com.apple.boot.plist is on /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration) EDIT: I've attached the modified file.

4 - Have fun!

Now you'll have your usb working, sleep mode not working but at least doesn't freeze up your computer when it gets back, mac os x won't eat your battery up (it'll say that you have 2:23 or 2:24 min left when you boot up but later will get to the real values) and most important you won't get a freeze when booting up from battery (cold boot also).

In any case you get frozen, just add the flags -v first to be sure it gets stuck at ACPI: Vector and if that's the case, add DSDT=none.dsl

It happened to me that the first times i tried to boot i got no usb at all, but rebooting solved the problem; though now by now it works perfectly.

Btw, i'm looking for some way to install Agere HDA modem (or at least to install a generic v.92 Modem script which works also for this modem (or should)) But i can't get the way to the modem menu, any clues on it?

PD: If i were you i wouldn't update the bootloader cause i don't know why the hell does this work, it shouldn't but it does.
