Need Installation advise on newly built rig

Hi guys,

 

I'm spanking new to hackintosh, and wondering where to start. I've read up on some info before building my PC, but not a lot because it's not totally for hackintosh. Now, I see that there are a whole bunch of distros of leopard here, but I don't know which is best suited for my system. I'd like your advises on this, if you don't mind. I've been hearing iATKOS is the simpliest to install and works pretty much from there, so don't know if that's the way I should go or not. Anyway, if you have had good experience with any distro, I'd like to hear from you.

 

My system:

 

evga 750i FTW

500 GB SATA WD

2x2gb ocz reaper 1066mz ddr2 ram

q9550 intel

linksys 54gs wireless card

wireless keyboard and mouse

evga geforce 9600gt 512mb

 

I think that's about all the main components I can think of. Please let me know anything else I should have disclosed.

 

Oh yeah, I saw something about installing retail leopard? Is there a difference between that and the distros? I would probably go out and buy the DVD if this option is more "real" than the others.

Hi there, check out my Series7 thread starting at post #1, and re-post this post there telling me what your DVDRW device is......SATA or PATA.......and if you want to dual boot with Windows and/or Linux.....etc. and I will help you in my thread....
