Prodder
I'm still in the process of installing Leopard...the difficult way, it seems. The problem: This time my graphics are corrupted when I boot normally (see attachment, sorry about my crappy phone pics). I get a corrupted screen, a chequered flag sort of effect. If you can make out the white square in the middle of my screen, that's the mouse pointer, which is the only thing that moves. If I'm rebooting into this, I can often see the remnants of what looks like the last good image that my graphics card had buffered at this resolution. The fun part: If I boot in Safe Mode (i.e. using kernel flag '-x') it works perfectly (see other attachment) - correct resolution (1920x1200), monitor and graphics card listing correctly in 'About this Mac'. The cry for help: ...would massively appreciate any help anyone can give me to get my normal login to boot a nice clean screen like my safe mode does. Hope someone out there can help! Prodder
Bump...anyone? I'm sure this is easily fixed, I just don't know how to do it. Prodder
Solved (and it now looks sexy). Apparently it's a bad idea to use AGPGart.kext with my 865 chipset (despite having an AGP graphics card).
