Hi all,

I try to install macos from an external USB HDD;

I follow all the step in this order :

> DL MSIwindosx86.iso

> Leopard HD install helper

> Partitioning the external HDD

> dumping the iso

> reboot

> The S10 say "Operating system found" (normal)

> hit ENTER (normal)

> Access to Leopard installer

> formating a partition on the Lenovo HDD with the OSX tool (my error, i dont take de C: but the D: icon_e_sad.gif )

> Reboot

> white square blinking

> waiting... long time...

> nothing append

> reboot

> Unplug the external HDD (2nd error ?)

> The S10 say "Operating system found"

> hit ENTER

> The S10 say "Operating system found"

> reboot on the External HDD (for intalling again OSX)

> The S10 say "Operating system found" (on the External HDD)

> Hit Enter

> The S10 say "Operating system found"

> reboot

> trying to boot on Xp

> The S10 say "No operating system found"

> I made a new dump of MSIwindosx86.iso with my othe XP computer (with leopard hd install helper) on the external USB hdd (partintioning, etc.)

> The S10 say "No operating system found" (on the External HDD)

> I made a new dump of MSIwindosx86.iso on my othe XP computer (with leopard hd install helper) on a 8Gb USB key

> The S10 say "No operating system found" (on the USB Key)

> Now crying !

The only thing i can do on the S10 is booting with a Fedora LiveUSB, i show all the XP files on my C:, i edited the boot.ini file with correct data (the boot.ini.bak file created by leopard HD install helper, helped me)

> No way.

Problem with the disk ? the external HDD ? The ISO (I tryed with 3 différent download of MSIwindosx86.iso) ? The S10 MBR ? Anything to do with Fedora ?

If anyone have a solution...

Thx

If i got problems i only got an USB stick with a live Ubuntu.

There´s a partition manager and if you use this you can manage the partition flags.

Only set the osx partition to "boot" if you installed chameleon bootloader.

This must help i think.

hi bro, hope you solve your problem already, my personal experience, is to change the HD to keep the original XP safe, any way is not that expensive, then get an external DVDRom, some one you might know probably have it, so boot from external DVDRom and install OSX to the New HD you got, then follow instructions from http://www.eba420.com/downloads.html and finally to update to 10.5.7 get the patch from http://code.google.com/p/cybergreghost/dow...mp;can=2&q=

every thingworks, even the microphone works with USB headset, the only thing that doesnt work is the LAN, i got an apple sticker and i got my apple netbook for less than US$ 600
