If you work with a lot of apps at the same time, the Quad Core is a better choice even though it's slower clock for clock. If you mainly use one or two apps at the same time but like to keep other apps open you just need lots of RAM. Then I would just get the faster dual core CPU. Nobody can really give you any good advice without knowing how you use your computer.
