morphicfighter
Hey all, I installed IPC 10.5.6 Final on my computer after partitioning the primary drive which has Vista on it. The installation went through fine and at the end of the install there is a message saying that you need to restart your computer. FINE. Restarted it BUT cant get an entry for OS 10 on the boot menu....meaning i have nothing to boot! After that I tried locating the chain0 on the install DVD and tried performing the C:/chain0:"MacOS" trick in boot.ini but to no avail - went back, rebooted, selected teh MacOS entry but it just goes in an inifite loop and nothing happens. ANY suggestions plz......my computer is a 1.6 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo Toshiba Satellite A-100 with 1GB of ram. Again one part of the partition is vista the other is the new OS 10.5.6. Oh and I tried -v afterwords with the boot DVD but that just gets me back to the installation menu. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/164763-ipc-1056-dual-boot-installation/ Share on other sites

morphicfighter
Thanks a lot for the reply. However, I am a little confused here, when I go to list the partitions I get the following: Parittion Type Size Offset Partition 1 .... OEM.....1500 MB ... 1024 KB Partition 2 ... Primary ..72 GB ..... 1501 MB Partition 0 ... Extended ...29 GB....73 GB Parittion 3 .... Logical ...29 GB ... .. 73 GB You said to select partition 1, by that do u mean select the Vista Partition? (Partition 2 here)...or the Mac os partition (Partition 0 for me). Thanks!
