mrbrightside23
Hi, I've got OSX working flawlessly on my PC and I love it. I want to get it working on my laptop now, but it doesn't work on my Dell Studio 17 because of the ATI Mobility HD3450. I have been waiting for about 5 months for development of the ATi mobility kexts, but it seems to be a dying project and doesn't look promising at all. So I want to replace the Dell with another latop which actually will work. The HCL doesn't seem to have any new laptops listed with a decent spec that will run OSX. I need at least 15", and seeing as the cheapest MacBook Pro is about £1300 there's no way I can afford that. Instead I want a new laptop, for about £500. Specwise something like 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 250/320GB HDD, dedicated graphics and a working wireless adaptern preferably LAN too. Anyone know of any laptops that match the criteria? Thanks in advance for any help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/164673-buying-advice-leopard-compatible-laptop/ Share on other sites
the real batman
Hi, I too am looking for a Mac compatible laptop. As of now i have a dell mini 9 running osx perfectly. i love it, it is very stable using the boot132 method. i do want to get another laptop though for the wife. i found that the delll d620 has supported hardware, but they can only be found referbished now i believe which limits factory customization. also i believe that there are many variations of wireless cards on the d620 that prevents a few from fully utilizing the hardware. i would stick to the basics, the integrated gma950 chipset is slow as {censored} but its also fully supported. if anyone knows of a more modern laptop that can run osx well i would also like to know Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/164673-buying-advice-leopard-compatible-laptop/#findComment-1148274 Share on other sites
