Rich1210
Update - If i boot through F8 and -V i get the following warning - "failed to load extension com.apple.driver.appleahciport" Then "Still waiting for root device" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/164668-osx-freezing-during-boot-up/#findComment-1146678 Share on other sites
c0rk007hck
Still waiting for root device is the error, and give the circle with a slash within. Just install a trial of macdrive in Vista, then drag your kext folder to /System/Library/Extensions. You can also use HFS explorer to do this. If done, boot with the flags -s. (Terminal) type: boot -uw / cd /System/Library/Extensions chown -R root:wheel *.* chmod -R 755 *.* reboot Good luck! No joy... already an AppleViatta folder in there.. tried that terminal bit, no joy either!! Would a reinstall be worth a try? c0rk007hck
Try other settings, and erase your disk before reinstalling. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/164668-osx-freezing-during-boot-up/#findComment-1146839 Share on other sites
