SoundMax ADI 1985 Sound troubles.....

I am running an older computer (P4 478 2.8GHz, Intel D865GLC, AGP Nvidia 6600GT). I have successfully installed XxX 10.5.6 and have everything working well but NO sound. Any chance I can get sound working? I have combed the internet and have tried a lot of things (Kext editing....Azalea installers....etc....etc.). Most discussions are OLD (tiger days). Anyone able to point me in the direction of where to go to try and make a go of this?

 

The audio card is a SoundMax ADI 1985 with a Device ID of 8086:24d5

AsmodeusOnMac, by any cance coudl you tell me the exact packages you used to install XxX 10.5.6? Kernel, kexts, etc. I have a very similar setup as you, just without the agp video. I've tried installing it a couple of times but could never get it to boot all the way. You'd be doing me a big favor, as otherwise I'm stuck with 10.4.7! Maybe once I get it up and running I can tackle the audio problem for you. Thanks!
