so my specs are

775dual-vsta

Pentium D 815

ati 1950GT

4GIGS of ram

SATA HD

i tried installing Ideneb 1.4 (10.5.6), the installation went fine but on first boot it gets stuck on the grey screen with the apple logo

tried running it with -v and the last line says

using ###### headers out of ###### headers....

in the installation i used the voodoo kernel (i think its a kernel) and i checked the compatability list (wiki) and it should work fine...

anyone here with some tips on those specs?

try reinstalling with default kernel, also you should select any patch that has anything to do with ATA AHCI, etc. and also intel memory controller patch, I dunno there names because I use Kalaway so.... this fixed my problems cause i believe it's not booting or reading your hd correctly..... you could also try simple things like in your bios try switching the sata to ide, etc.

Please use the search before asking questions.

You can't use the vanilla Apple Kernel because you're on a Pentium D.

Only CPUs based on the Intel Core microarchitecture can use the Apple kernel.

The Voodoo Kernel is your best bet.

SATA must be set to AHCI mode.

Try booting with maxmem=2048 cpus=1 -v

yeah nice, beerkec'd i didnt even think of looking at that, thanks, and yes you can pick kernel in EVERY DISTRO of osx86, at least every single copy I've gotten my hands on. Never messed with iD, so I wouldnt know where it's at.

so your SATA should already be defaulted to AHCI, if its not just enter into your bios and do it up!
