Vmware Osx86 with working sound?

Hi,

So I've been digging through these forums for awhile now, trying out various bootable images, templates, etc, and I've managed to get pretty much everything working, except for sound - which happens to be the one thing I need the most, since my goal is to be able to run Logic 8. Before I waste any more time with this, I'll just ask: has anyone ever gotten sound working reliably (as in no skipping) in any version of OSX, on any version of Vmware (or any other virtualization platform that runs on linux)? Is this possible? Or am I wasting my time trying?

 

Oh, and I have a usb audio interface (in addition to a regular sound card), so getting high-speed usb streaming working would work for me as well (but I've had no luck so far with that either).
