Ricochet606 Posted April 26, 2009 Share Posted April 26, 2009 So tried upgrading to 10.5.6 following this tutorial http://www.insanelymac.com/2009/01/update-...m-1055-to-1056/ . I was unable to do this "Open osx86tools >>> Check repair permissions >>> Set kext permissions >>> Clear extensions cache >>> Restart." because it wouldn't let me open up osx86tools. Now when I boot with -v I keep getting "Still waiting for root device" Any idea why its doing this? Thanks! XQYZ Posted April 26, 2009 Share Posted April 26, 2009 it obviously means it can't detect your hard drive which basically means the kext/driver got f**ked up. Boot from DVD; copy over the DVD's HDD Driver (e.g. AppleNVidiaATA) and fix permissions.
