Laptop freezes when using both cores

Hi Guys.

 

I have a NEC Versa P7200 Laptop that I have installed iPC 10.5.6 on.

 

Specs:

1.83Ghz Intel Core Duo

1GB DDR2-667 Sodimm

80GB WD IDE 2.5"

Intel 945 Chipset (GMA950)

 

Everything installed perfectly but unless I boot with CPUS=1 OS X freezes after a couple of minutes use.

 

Anyone know whats causing this?

 

I have heard it can be caused by firewire drivers so I deleted all the firewire kexts on the system but still no go.

 

Anyone know how to fix it ?
